History
Nelson Creek was part of the massive West Coast gold rush of the 1860s. The area was heavily worked by both individuals and larger sluicing operations. Old tailings and water race remnants can still be found.

Local Tips
One of the more reliable West Coast spots. The old tailings piles are worth re-working with modern techniques. Good for families with the camping facilities. Bring rain gear — it's the West Coast.
