History
Shamrock Creek was part of the Kaniere goldfield, one of the most productive on the West Coast. Irish miners gave it its name, and the area supported a substantial population during the rush years.

The shelters and fireplaces make this ideal for winter prospecting when the creeks are running harder. Plenty of water means good sluicing conditions. Work the junctions with side creeks — natural gold traps.
